Viceroy is the hall people book when the evening has a second half. It seats a hundred to a hundred and twenty, and unlike a room where the dance floor is whatever space is left after the chairs go in, this one has a proper wooden floor laid as part of the hall.
About the hall
What Viceroy is actually like
The proportions do most of the work. The ceiling is high enough that the room does not feel crowded at a hundred and twenty, and high enough for the hanging light fittings that give the space its character after dark. Practically, that height also means the sound has somewhere to go — a hundred people talking does not turn into a wall of noise the way it does in a low room.
The usual layout keeps dining to the perimeter and the floor open in the centre, so the room changes character between the meal and the music without anyone moving furniture mid-function. Audio-visual is set up in advance, whether that is a montage on screen, a compere with a mic, or a DJ feed.
At this size the catering gets more flexible, not less. A hundred-guest menu can carry more live counters per head than a 250-guest one, which is why engagement functions and milestone birthdays in Viceroy tend to lean on dosa, chaat and dessert stations rather than a straight buffet line.
