Majestic Hall
Majestic is the largest of the five halls at Royal Court and the one most Madurai families end up booking, for a simple reason: it takes a full wedding guest list without splitting it across two rooms. Two hundred to two hundred and fifty people sit down together, and everyone can still see the stage.
About the hall
What Majestic is actually like
The room runs long rather than square, which is what makes it work for a reception. The stage and backdrop sit at one end, seating fills the middle, and the buffet line runs down the side wall so the queue never crosses the aisle families use to reach the couple. On a conference day the same footprint turns over to theatre rows facing a projector and screen, and we have run it that way for dealer meets and annual conferences for years.
One window on the hall looks out towards the Meenakshi Amman temple — the detail photographers ask about first, and the reason evening functions here tend to run their portrait session indoors rather than moving the party outside. The hall is centrally air-conditioned, so a May afternoon function is no different from a December one.
Because the kitchen is ours and it is in the same building, a 250-plate service does not depend on an outside caterer arriving on time. Menus are built with you across South Indian, North Indian and Continental, with live counters if you want them, and the banquet team that plates the food is the same team that sets the hall.

The long axis keeps the stage visible from the back row and keeps the buffet queue off the main aisle.

The whole floor is cooled, not spot-cooled, so the back rows are as comfortable as the front.
